 @bradyvercher I still want to do more testing, but
 [attachment:38678.6.diff] is looking really good. A small thing, but it
 looks like in other places in WP when we add an inline global comment, we
 format it like `/* global YT */` (singular "global" and omit the ":false"
 since that's the default).

 Can you add a link to the custom Vimeo handler you created so we can see
 how you're thinking this would be extended by plugins?
