Import the test WP data (
http://codex.wordpress.org/Theme_Development_Checklist#Theme_Unit_Test
) into a separate test WP install and go through the theme.  The
http://codex.wordpress.org/Theme_Development_Checklist is a great
resource for testing against a theme.  It should support the standard
WP features and and look nice.

Perhaps this is a good time to create a codex page listing out various
items that we've seen come up and how they've been dealt with.  Any
volunteers?  You'll need to keep an eye on the discussions on this
list to help keep things up to date.
