My vote would be for YES to must support Post Thumbnails, given the outcome
of our earlier discussion regarding requiring Themes to support core
WordPress functionality.

I'm actually unsure why we have Custom Header Images, Custom Backgrounds,
and Editor Styles as optional, but I left them as-is.
