[wp-hackers] relative URL for login

I think that there have been a lot of issues around the login that have not been
addressed. Hmm...let me qualify that...perhaps solutions have been found and
committed to CVS versions, but this is not generally known. Just search on the
support site for "login problems" and you'll see what I mean. Thankfully Podz
and others have busted their humps helping out with this. Anything to make the
login easier from design to setup to function is a good idea. It's something
that really kicks the pants off of new users when they gleefully get through the
initial install with no problems only to find that they can't log in. Users
should not have to know devs or uberusers personally to find out that there is a
problem with such functions. This is probably the biggest weakness I have seen
in the WP software.

I can't speak to this issues from a programming POV, so I will wear my
user/support person POV, and I think that the login issues are, quite frankly,
embarrassing. Relative URL for logging in? If it makes it easier for people to
set up and use the software, then I'm 100% in favour of it.

Craig.
