 Hi!

I came across this ticket in LinkedIn and wanted to give some feedback as
it was encouraged. I've worked with WordPress 13 years doing mostly
development but always some design on the side.

I do like the effort of modernizing the look and feel so thank you for
 everybody working on this.

From my visual eye I'd like to point few things and doing that in brutal
 honesty:

 * Light gray backgrounds do have their function in options and dashboard
views as it brings contrast between widgets or form fields. Be mindful
that if we remove that background color it may be harder to distinguish
between widgets and pages might be harder to read.
 * Admin footer should not be fixed to the bottom of the screen as it does
not provide that valuable information to users. The users do see the
WordPress logo at all times so they won't forget which CMS they are using
but all fixed elements take screen real estate and they add up fast in
 laptop screens.
 * Resizable admin menu does seem like a good idea. I guess the proposed
default width is in line with Site Editor. Just looking at it in the
context of dashboard it does look a bit too wide there. Maybe it's the
fact that default items only fill small part of it and it makes sense in
the bigger context but I just can't shake the initial feeling that it's
 too wide.

I'll keep on following this ticket and giving feedback on designs!
