 There are two separate issues being discussed in this ticket.

 1. All existing Screencast oEmbeds have been broken. This has nothing to
 do with WordPress.
 2. The new `app.screencast.com` URL format is not supported by the oEmbed
 allow-list in WordPress.

 Recap of where this issue is at:

 * All existing Screencast embeds are broken because the
 `thumb.screencast.com` and `content.screencast.com` domains no longer
 resolve.
 * The `api.screencast.com` oEmbed endpoint no longer works.
 * It is not possible to embed a new-style `app.screencast.com` link into
 content in WordPress because a) the URL format is not supported, and b)
 the `api.screencast.com` oEmbed endpoint no longer works.
 * Due to the above, support for Screencast will be removed from WordPress
 when 6.8.2 ships in July.
 * A decision needs to be made on whether adding support for
 `app.screencast.com` (and its new oEmbed endpoint) should be added to
 WordPress.
