 deliverable, sorting all the extra scenarios we encountered in the past
 weeks.

 Thanks @SirLouen for taking the deep dive here and becoming a subject
 matter expert on PNG images. Also thanks @siliconforks for the PR and
 everyone here for the detailed discussion, sample images and testing.

 I will review the latest PR and get this committed to trunk for 6.9 and
 for consideration for 6.8.3.
