 Indeed! We give that warning in advance of a release for any intentional
 (albeit rare) breaking change.

 That's the key thing with this issue: The breaking change ''wasn't
 intentional'', which is why it was only noticed after release, and why we
 got started right away to investigate, fix, and provide as many
 workarounds as possible until the fix has been released.
