 Hi @majordoit thank you for the ticket...and welcome to Trac.

 While the functionality you are asking for could be useful in some
 circumstances, it doesn't really make the 80/20 cut (i.e., is probably not
 useful for the vast majority of site admins).

 There are several plugins in the
 [https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/plugin+notes/ WordPress Plugin
 Directory] that add this functionality.

 Therefore, I'm going to close this ticket.
