Comment:

 WordPress 5.8.2 RC is due out in less than 24 hours. It's still not clear
 how to reproduce the issues described here reliably enough so that the
 root cause can be determined.

 If anyone that had experienced the issue is able to test on WordPress 5.8,
 that would be helpful to confirm that this bug was not fixed through the
 many enhancements and refinements included in that release.
