 Thanks @soulseekah - with a ''small'' delay of 3 months I tested this and
 on WordPress 5.6-alpha-48783, Chrome Version 84.0.4147.125
 It works!

 So, what's next? :-)

 Is the `indeterminate` checkbox state supported by all the browsers that
 WordPress supports?
