 I discovered why the plugins were showing up multiple times, but I don't
 know what caused it... I'm assuming it was something related to my
 computer/environment. I found there were multiple files within my plugins
 that had been duplicated with a space then number behind it (plugin-name
 2.php, some were even plugin-name 3.php, plugin-name 4.php). It was not
 all the files within the plugins and it wasn't just plugins made by the
 same vendor. I deleted the duplicate plugin-name.php files within each of
 the plugins and it made the duplicates disappear from the list.
