 Hi @MagicTH,

 Welcome in WordPress Trac. I tried to replicate the issue you mentioned,
 both using an image and a PDF, but I can't replicate it. My files are
 always uploaded to the latest correct folder. Can you try to de-activate
 your plugins and use the default theme and see if the issue persist?
