 Getting reverted twice and receiving further iteration afterwards
 reinforces my concerns; this needs to be a vanilla dashboard widget fed by
 api.wordpress.org.

 If that were the case, it would be:

 * added & removed remotely
 * iterated on without edits to core code
 * release agnostic
 * feature agnostic

 Please reconsider the approach being taken here.
