Hi everyone!
One of the things i find weird is that some are suggesting that dropping
support for dangerously old php versions is going against users.
What would happen to them? nothing. At worst, these sites using php
5.2/3/4 and old wordpress versions will stay the same. If using latest
version, they either upgrade php and wordpress or do nothing. Its their
decision.
Why is WordPress banking the debt for this? Are there any other open
source projects that take this responsibility? All i see is: update or
you're on your own.
And what is being suggested here is: for those wp sites that are updated
but using old php version, create a plan/documentation/support for them to
upgrade. Its for their own good.
