 Thanks @bradyvercher [attachment:38172.12.diff] does fix the video looping
 issues in Chrome and FF, and also fixes the preview issues mentioned
 above.

 I agree with you that the developer experience for including the custom
 headers in themes is still more complex that I'd hope for, but this may be
 good for an initial commit.
