 Another option would be to go ahead and use the cropped image control, but
 then to define the `$flex_width` and `$flex_height` args to correspond to
 the image size's `$crop` value. See [attachment:36255.2-alt.diff]. There's
 a big problem here though: it seems that if you select a crop that doesn't
 match the aspect ratio defined in the image size, the cropped image will
 appear get stretched according to the `$width` and `$height` initially
 defined, not the actual width and height that the user selected during the
 crop.
