 +1 on this ticket, but +100 on removing the editor from core all together,
 I've long felt it should be a plugin and prompted for installation similar
 to the WordPress Importer along with upgrading it to provide basic syntax
 highlighting and checking.

 Still, love the idea requiring reauth for using it and a warning prompt.
