 Would it be possible/feasible/advisable to allow the Customizer to be
 positioned either vertically, along the left side, or optionally
 *horizontally*, along the *bottom* (perhaps a per-panel configuration)? Or
 is this achievable using a fly-out panel (e.g. Widgets)?

 I'm not convinced that there aren't enough existing options already to
 accommodate settings that require more width, but perhaps it's worth
 considering?
