 Totally agree with alexander.rohmann!

 Since people are using a seriously deprecated PHP version, which alone
 opens major security issues, I see it as a community responsibility that
 we have to push people to update to a newer version that is actively
 maintained.

 So If people want to use an deprecated PHP version, they might as well
 stick with an deprecated version of WordPress, but not get any of the new
 features of newer releases.

 We tell people to harden their website by upgrading WordPress here:

 But when I take a look at known vulnerabilities in PHP I'm afraid that
 updating only WP is not enough. Updating PHP is also a requirement to keep
 a site secure:
