 kovshenin and soulseekah, any insights you may have on #29450 would be
 appreciated.  I've made two substantial attempts to further reduce
 backtracking in that same regexp.  If the latest patch works I'll be
 happy.  If not, I'm wondering why everyone is getting different results
 with the same test cases?
