 Thanks for adding to the codex.

 I was adding my tinymce plugin using "mce_external_plugins". It didn't
 work if I did that. But if I ALSO returned NULL to "tiny_mce_plugins", my
 plugin worked.

 I'm guessing that there may have been a conflict with a default plugin and
 my own - and that by removing all the default plugins (by returning NULL
 to "tiny_mce_plugins"), my plugin no longer had a conflict.

 Sidenote:

 It's no skin off my back either way, but, my personal opinion of a change
 of this magnitude with this little backwards compatibility is that this
 change should probably wait until 4.0.
