Hi plocha,
That's great news. I know this will be a huge improvement.
The workaround we have implemented at the moment is to use a custom menu
which DOES do what you'd expect I.e. pages in the menu that are set for
future publish dates do not appear until that date, and child pages are
also hidden. Unfortunately the majority of our users do not know how to
use custom menus properly so it causes more problems than it solves.
In order to use the workaround, I also needed to add a patch that allowed
child pages to pick parent pages that were private / future published etc.
this should probably be addressed as well.
I would be very happy to test / provide feedback for this patch, please
keep me in the loop if you think I can help in anyway.
