 I'd agree with changing the label "theme options" to something like
 "social links" since that's all that's in that section. (Incidentally, I
 don't think they should be in a plugin, because they're so tied to the
 theme's design.)

 +1 to the suggestion of customizing the green to use some other highlight
 color.

 But I disagree with all the other suggestions here, for reasons @cainm
 explained very nicely.
