Comment:

 Turns out that the new jQuery UI widget factory has some breaking changes
 (according to jQuery UI 1.8 changelog), which makes breaking it out into
 its own file reasonable. So for real back-compat, we'd have to bundle an
 old version of jQuery UI (and an old version of jQuery). Not realistic.
 Plugins will just have to be updated.

 I'll make an announcement on wpdevel.
