 Hmm, looks like that idea with injecting information without a link didn't
 make it through. - What about the possibility for plugins to add some
 arbitrary HTML at different positions of the Admin Bar via hooks (see
 attachment:ticket:14772:admin_bar_inner_hooks.diff)?
