I run WordPress on a free hosting account at Xtreemhost, and I would very
much like to install plugins and the like directly from my site. I knew
there must have been an error in the code somewhere, but I opened a ticket
with Xtreemhost. This was their reply:

''There is still a bug in Wordpress which does not allow to use the theme
and plugin installer for clustered hosting architectures.''

''We are using a clustered hosting architecture because of better
 performance and failover techniques.''

''I would recommend uploading the themes or plugins using normal FTP,
 which will work without problems.''

Of course, I know of many people who use a similar way of hosting...and
have this exact problem. Is there a hack of some sort to fix this...or can
you fix it by 3.1? Thank you!
