 to choose between the full permalink structure support and the abbreviated
 one that we currently have (/thingy/slug/).

 As long as we can turn those off completely as well.  I have a plugin that
 allows the user to create their own permastructure similar to that of
 normal posts and wouldn't want WP adding its own per post_type on top of
 that.
