 > We deliberately didn't set up other post types to appear in the front-
 end, including categories, tags, index pages, feeds, archives, what have
 you... By default, post type of 'post' is assumed.

 That's not entirely true. When going to /custom-taxonomy/term the post
 type is automatically set to 'any'. So it's a bug in the sense that the
 tag taxonomy doesn't behave like custom taxonomies.
