I agree with everything mikeschinkel said, except that I'm not sure that
saving two copies of the post is the best solution - rather, I would
suggest adding an option to disable the generation of the shortcode and
make WP use HTML tags instead.[[BR]]
Of course, it would still be able to interpret the shortcode, but
inserting an image would put HTML tags into the post instead of a
shortcode.
