 How about something else, such as "object type"?  The problem with
 "content type" is that "content-type" has well-known MIME / HTTP header
 definitions, so if we use it here it's guaranteed to cause confusion,
 especially in the context of media attachments.

 Besides, "content" is only part of what posts, pages, attachments, etc.
 comprise.  They differ not just in content but in function, modality, etc.
