There's no intentional gaslighting there - If data was provided to them,
this is the first time I'm hearing about it, and it's against the
expectations we place upon those who have access to it. I don't know who
Joost is referring to here, as a ".org team member" is incredibly vague
and could mean any number of people.

I know that Automattic (Disclosure: They donate my time to the WordPress
project) has their own version of the .org data, intentionally because we
don't share the .org data with their plugin and product teams - they can
collect through the fact that all their main plugins require a Service
connection to work, which allows them to collect statistical data.

 > The people at Yoast B.V. also work as SEOs for WordPress.org, being
granted access to all Google Analytics data --- this very thread sends
 data to 'googletagmanager.'

Google Analytics data does NOT include plugin active installation data
other than what is publicly shown. Google Analytics does NOT have access
to any private WordPress.org data, other than end-user browser activity,
anyone can see what data is sent to Google Analytics through monitoring
their own browser console, we don't have any custom integrations with them
that send other data in the background.
