Comment (by thisisandrewpalmer):

Our plugins are measured via our licensing and API system which is much
more accurate and allows us to market more efficiently. It's not the fact
that the data has been hidden on dot org, its the way the data was
removed, if this is a community project then there should have been
 discussion around this.

By simply removing a thing with zero discussion prior to removal, fully
demonstrates to me, that WordPress is a community of one and whatever that
one says - goes, no discussion, no explanations, no empathy. Any further
explanation is moot, what is done is done and how it was done there is not
a damn thing anyone without the keys can do about it.

Reminder: The person that was charged to remove this item is paid by
https://audrey.co/ who are an Investor in Automattic and the CEO of
Automattic is Matt Mullenweg. No further explanation as to who
ordered/authorised this deletion is required and, no one is as empowered
as Matt to answer the call for a full explanation as to why a community
project that relies on thousands of contributors leaves so much power to
one individual. As director of WordPress, I imagine Josepha will be asking
whether her position is untenable given (as far as I can tell), she was
unaware of this major decision which has had a negative effect on so many
 contributors.
