[wp-hackers] Allow Wordpress to use a Slave Database

I filed this as a ticket on trac, but also felt it might be worth 
emailing it to this mailing list.

At work (http://community.plus.net/) we have found that we are sometimes 
hitting our MySQL connection limits (although we do tweak them). We also 
have a replication setup where there is a slave database which is idle 
as Wordpress does not allow you to connect to it.

We have been looking at adding the option to use a slave database, and 
have attached an initial patch to http://trac.wordpress.org/ticket/7081 
which we have submitted.

We would appreciate any feedback on this from others.
