Hmm. Yeah. I was able to get it down to 500k using IrfanView with the
PNGOUT plugin, but I see your point. Saving to JPG though really hurts the
quality of that menu text at the top. Makes it fuzzy, sort of thing.

I'll look into adding jpg support to theme check.
