[theme-reviewers] What happened to default sidebar widgets?

What default widgets are you talking about? As far I know WordPress hasn't
used 'default' widgets in years. The ones used in _s are core widgets, yes
but by no means are they 'default'.
Part of the reason the most recent bundled themes haven't is a design
decision they made. Twenty Fourteen is looking to be a little different
though.
