To clarify, a child theme requires a parent theme to be activated in the
installation as well. Therefore if you upload a child theme from WP theme
repo and its parent theme is in Themeforest then you'll be requiring users
to purchase the parent theme.

If however, you mean you have a look-alike stand-alone WordPress theme
which you would like to upload, that's a different matter.

Which is it?
