brought it up with nacin at one point, it will never happen because those 
particular functions serve their purpose

especially since you can write your own quick fallback function in the theme 
if you want to utilize it

it's possible that you could write your own function to add to the main core 
and see how it goes, but the fallback for get_stylesheet_ will not be 
updated with one i'm pretty sure on that from the convo i had with nacin 
with the bloginfo stuff I was inquiring about at one point
