Regarding the import option of checking the "Download and import
attachments." When not checked, attachments will load from the WP.com
blog which uses query string image resizing for images. See the ?w=300
at the end of the image source path in the first image in the Images
Test post.

When importing attachments locally (checking the box) that resize step
won't happen so the image might appear at a bigger size. But, Twenty
Ten should still display it correctly since it has CSS rules to
constrain image sizes to fit in the content width.

In general I'd recommend always checking the box so that you have the
imported attachments.
