Actually, in case anybody else is using this plugin, Kellan has a
newer version at:

which fixes that bug. It should be up at wp-plugins.org sooner or later. 

I hacked in support for "tags in quotes" (containing spaces) and
case-insensitive autocomplete to my copy, along with some other
changes:
