I don't personally care as to if it's forum or blog style, as long as 
the search utility is robust and outputs decent summaries of the status 
of the plugin.

I also think data that should be tracked about these plugins includes
-license of plugin
-last verified version of WP the plugin worked for
-(possibly) a timestamp on when the plugin was last updated to give the 
user an idea of whether or not a plugin is in active upkeep
