[wp-hackers] Trackback and Pingback in WordPress

Maybe this has already been suggested, maybe it won't work, but why not 
just wrap the pinging functions into some kind of pseudocron-type thing 
and finish them up on subsequent requests, either for admin-area 
requests only or for everyone.  Spreading them out over a larger number 
of requests should keep the time spent doing the pings to a minimum, I 
would think.
