I want to have code displayed in <pre> blocks.

but this is problematic due to the auto paragraph.

I had a fix that solved partially the problem by messing with wpauto,
but I've now used the Preserve Code Formatting plugin which solves the
problem for me.

Maybe this should ne looked into the default wp install?
Because WP should not break <pre> and <code> tags.
