 @DrewAPicture I tend to agree with you regarding the redirects. However I
 don't think the discussion here should focus on that. The changes also
 prevent admin menu items, admin notices, admin pointers, or any other
 arguably more legitimate ways to expose a plugin's configuration UI to
 show up right away. That to me is the core of the problem here.
