 @SergeyBiryukov @azaozz I am in favour of changing this ticket to target
 PHP 7.0 instead of 7.2. What do you say?

 As mentioned several times above, this might not gain us huge benefit in
 terms of the core code but it will move us further down the path.
 Incremental improvements are always going to be easier to justify and
 implement than larger ones.

 PHP 5.6 is at 4.2% of installations, safely under the target 5% that's
 needed before we can consider dropping support.
