 Regarding the code editors, I think it's important to look back at
 WordPress 2.8 which added CodePress
 https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/9173 . CodePress added syntax
 highlighting and a neat lookup tool for functions. It was disabled in the
 2.8.1 release due to compatibility issues and was never seen again.

 What happened with CodePress and how will the new Syntax Highlighter avoid
 having the same compatibility issue?
