I just want to add my 1 cent. I think have a way to
rate the plugins on whatever page (the wiki or
what-have-you) is enough. I don't like the idea of the
plugins calling home, and I think having a way to add
and view a rating and download count is plenty. I also
feel that a central place to get links to whatever
permalink blog post has the instructions and files is
plenty in terms of a centralized directory. No need to
have the downloads all be hosted on the wordpress
server. However, I think the wiki don't look so great
and I'd love to see a plugin directory on the
wordpress.org site. That is all,
