 1.2.4 with PHP 5.2.1 and Apache 2.0.58. New version of WP-mu downloaded
 about 2 weeks ago and not modified outside of adding a theme or two and
 the usual n00b stuff of changing the site title etc (I got stopped dead in
 my tracks by this bug within a day and went to play with Drupal instead).

 Quite a few other folks reporting the same problem over on the MU forums,
 although less specific how they caused it.
