 In the linked patch [https://github.com/WordPress/wordpress-
 develop/pull/9103 #​9103] I have proposed a minor update to replace all
 Unicode space characters with the normal space (U+0020)

 This circumvents the deeper issue but resolves the common case of macOS
 screenshots uploading with a `?`.
