Comment:

 Hi all,
 As the way widgets work within WordPress have changed in favour of
 Gutenberg blocks, the UI/UX of this issue has changed now. As of such the
 issues raised in this ticket are no longer relevant to the way WordPress
 handles menus Appearance Customizer. Because of this I believe this ticket
 can be safely closed.
